I am honoured to be your County President for the forthcoming year and will do my best to support the County and the County Officers in all events. It is good to see so many bowlers taking part in so many competitions, not only at County but also at national and international levels. It is also very encouraging to see that the noble game of bowls has a place in the future judging by the increased section of Under 25’s players. I am looking forward to seeing the Kent teams in action in the coming season and hope that they can add more titles and trophy winners to the existing memorable list. I wish all competitors the very best of luck.

My predecessor, John Smart, has been an excellent President and has supported the Association with great enthusiasm.  No association is successful without all the hard work that is put in “behind the scenes” and my thanks go to all Officers and members who contribute their time and energy into making the matches possible. My thanks, also, to all the clubs who host the matches and competitions during the year and to all the supporters. I will look forward to visiting as many clubs as possible and to meeting with old friends as well as forming new friendships.

My county tour in 2010 will be to Bedfordshire, staying in the Swan Hotel by the riverside in the centre of Bedford . Six matches have been arranged in Bedford and one en-route at St. Neots, Cambridge . I shall do my best to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable time.

I am proud to represent Kent County and am grateful to the all the people who proposed me and trusted me to take up the challenge of the presidency. I never imagined that I would be following in the footsteps of so many distinguished Presidents. I wish everyone a successful and enjoyable season of bowling in 2009/10.
